1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DocuLane ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
2. The Service
DocuLane is an AI-powered document processing platform that converts, compresses, merges, OCRs, and extracts data from documents. You are responsible for providing files you have the right to process.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, or that you have no right to process.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Use the Service to build a competing product or resell it without permission.
- Circumvent usage limits or abuse free tiers.
5. Plans, Payments & Refunds
Paid plans and credit packs are billed by our payment provider, Paddle, which handles all payment processing and applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled in accordance with Paddle's refund policy and applicable law.
6. AI Output & Human Review
AI-assisted features (such as data extraction and OCR) are provided to assist your work. Results may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and validating any output before relying on it, especially for financial, legal, or other consequential use. The Service does not provide professional accounting, legal, or financial advice.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to your documents. We claim no ownership over your files. The Service itself (software, design, branding) is owned by DocuLane and protected by applicable law.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocuLane shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or restrict access if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your pending files will be deleted in accordance with our retention policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
